CurlON Clinics 10 am -12 pm Strategy and 1 pm-4 pm Video Session

Saturday, January 10th

There are two clinics that will run on Saturday, January 10th. On-ice will feature Video Analysis session, in which you will work with a coach and a small group, interchanging between the ice and the lobby to review the tape and help you elevate your game and technique. The second set of workshops will focus on game strategies. We will have one Beginner and one Intermediate strategy session. Intermediate strategy if for experienced Skips and Vices looking to improve their in-games strategies. The Beginner session will be focus more on introducing the main situations in curling and the options for how to respond and think ahead. Ideal for those wishing to get more involved in the in-game decision making. Strategy sessions will take place in the lounge. There is the opportunity for those interested to attend both a video and a strategy session. 

10 am - 12 pm Beginner and Intermediate Strategy   $20

This 2-hour off-ice clinic will review some of the basic concepts of strategy. This clinic is suitable for curlers with little to moderate strategic knowledge or experience, or front-end players looking to learn more about strategy. This clinic will address the three different types of strategy, how to employ these strategies with appropriate shot selection, factors that influence strategy, and how to play to your team’s strengths. There will be opportunities to engage in discussions regarding different strategic scenarios.

1pm - 4 pm Video Analysis   $55

This 3-hour clinic is largely conducted on ice, with a short off-ice delivery review preceding on-ice analysis. Participants will have an opportunity to practice their delivery, be videotaped and immediately receive technical feedback. After an opportunity to correct identified delivery faults/areas for improvement, participants will have an opportunity again to be videoed and receive feedback. Due to the time intensive and personalized feedback that is inherent with this clinic attendance is limited to 12.
