BOARD of DIRECTORSThe Glanford Curling Club Incorporated is a non-profit corporation and its Letters Patent provide for a board of 15 directors. Each director holds office for a term of five (5) years and the directors' terms are rotated so that three (3) directors come up for re-election each year. The nominating committee composed of past presidents will nominate additional persons to fill any vacancies. Additional nominations may be made by club members. If no further nominations are received, then the three (3) directors proposed by the Nominating Committee will be acclaimed, otherwise an election will be held at the annual meeting. The positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer carry with them specific responsibilities. The remaining twelve directors, including the first Vice-President and second Vice-President, act as Chairmen of standing committees. The twelve standing committees have been identified as follows: ice, building, house, finance & development, fund raising, associations, games, club spiels, ope Each Director delegates certain responsibilities to other members. For example, under the Director of Social Functions, committees are assembled to arrange social events such as the corn roast, golf tournament and closing banquet. Any matters which require approval of the Board of Directors are brought to the board as a written recommendation by the various club directors. All of the other sections operate in a similar manner.
